Mercury Retrograde 2017

“Solstice” comes from two Latin words: sol meaning “sun” and sistere meaning “to stand still” because it appeared as though the sun and moon had stopped moving across the sky. This

longest night of the year, followed by a renewal of the sun, demonstrates the cyclical order of the cosmos. In this way, celebrating the solstice can be a beautiful remembrance that our lives are part of a larger order, always changing, always renewing.

If we look around us we can see that the rest of nature has quieted down, slowed down, or at least taken its activity underground into its roots or burrows. Since we are a part of nature, So this is the gift of the season: a pause to appreciate and to nurture our roots, our connections that support us so well all year long.

Winter Solstice is one of our oldest celebrations, dating back to the dawn of modern civilization some 30,000 years ago. For ancient people, the winter solstice was an awesome, mysterious, and powerful phenomenon tap into this magical time with ritual, intention and meditation.

A couple of suggestions for rituals for the winter solstice

  • Make a Christmas wreath which is an ancient tradition made of evergreens, holly, and ivy. The wreath’s circle symbolizes the wheel of the year and the completion of another cycle.
  • Light a candle on the solstice and shine the light and reflect and meditate on your teachings and wisdom from the year gone by.
  • Cleanse your home with some sage or bells.
  • Cleanse your own energy field with some sage, rose water, or a nice cleansing salt bath
  • Decorating the tree with objects resembling fruits, nuts, berries, to acknowledge
  • the gifts of abundance from Mother eart

Feng Shui is all about having the most supportive, inspiring and healthiest home. One of the first steps to achieving these Feng Shui goals is to give your home a really good cleaning.  But because Feng Shui also means living in harmony with the earth, your cleaning should use natural organic products that honor and nurture that relationship.

Using natural home cleaning products supports the sense of smell. Many cleaning products include natural essential oils, and thus will make your home smell nice by offering an “aromatherapy” effect. Lavender is a natural disinfectant. Imagine getting your home clean while enjoying that beautiful relaxing aroma. You can even add a few drops to your clothes before they go into the dryer or a few drops in the vacuum.

Lemon is another magical essential oil. You can use a few drops on stains on your clothes, or add a few drops to a gallon of water when mopping your white tile floors.

Tea tree essential oil offers antibacterial, antiseptic and antifungal properties. It works especially well to get rid of mildew and mold around the house.

By contrast, bleach and other chemicals in non-natural cleaning products can create smells and even toxic odors that are unbearable.

Simple Ingredients needed for making your own cleaning products include:

  • Baking soda
  • Citrus seed extract: Usually made from grapefruit seed, this natural preservative is a powerful antimicrobial agent. It is often sold as grapefruit seed extract
  • Essential oils: lavender, sweet orange; bergamot, rosemary, eucalyptus or tea tree; thyme; lemon or lemongrass; and peppermint or citronella
  • Cider Vinegar

And here are some great recipes for making your own natural cleaning products:

All purpose cleaner

9 parts water to 1 part white vinegar

For the Bathroo

10 drops of tea tree oil and three cups of white vinegar. Add  to your toilet bowl and let sit for 15 minutes.

Fill a spray bottle with half water and half vinegar for a  shower or bathtub cleaner. leave for 30 minutes before rinsing off.

Glass Cleaner

Mix two cups water, 1/2 cup white or cider vinegar, and 1 to 2 drops of lemon essential oil.

Tile Grout Cleaner

Mix 1 part water and 3 parts baking soda mixed into a paste. Apply to grout and let sit; and then scrub.

Cookware

Use sea salt with a little lemon juice or essential oil and scrub. Also, try baking soda and water made into a paste.

If you decide to purchase natural cleaning products instead of making them at home, there are  just a couple of qualities to look out for:

  • Nontoxic
  • Fragrance free
  • Biobased
  • Reduced and recyclable packaging
  • No VOCs
  • Pesticide Free
  • Biodegradable

Feng Shui principals are becoming so widespread, you can get some great natural brands at the local health food store. Noweven grocery stores carry them.

Feng Shui and Energy Chi

Posted by: | Comments (0)

Science has proven that everything is made up of energy. In the Chinese art and science of Feng

Shui we call energy Chi. The Egyptians call it Ka, the Hebrew have Ruach, the Japanese have Ki,

Chi is condensed and dispersed in alternative cycles of positive (Sheng Chi) and negative (Sha

Chi) energy, and it manifests in various forms. Chi can not be destroyed; however, it can be

transformed. Energy can be blocked and build up negatively, or it can flow freely, which is what

we want in our homes. Feng Shui supports the energy flow in your environment, which directly

impacts the energy flow in your body and thus can unleash more of your energy and vitality.

As you read this article, realize that the magazine is comprised of particles of energy; the

computer you may be reading this on is exactly the same. The grass, the sun: it’s all energy.

Feng Shui translates to wind and water. When we consider the chi of water, we know we drink it,

wash with it, we cannot survive without it and we see this as positive energy. However a tsunami

can destroy an entire town. Wind is similar. It can feel amazing and caressing on a warm day. It

can be harnessed to create electricity. Yet too much wind can destroy cities. The key is balance.

In Feng Shui we differentiate three kinds of chi.

First we have heavenly chi, our destiny energy. This is the energy we are born with, the soul

agreements we have decided to have before we come into human form. Soul agreements are

made with your children, your lover, your mother and so on. When we bring Feng Shui into our

lives it does not change these pre-destined forces and experiences, but it makes what we would

perceive as a bad experiences less painful, more graceful.

Then there is human chi. This is your physical, emotional and mental chi. Feng Shui really

supports balance and alignment in your body, feelings and mind. Imagine living in a home that is

off-balance. You try self care, perhaps by seeing an acupunturist who brings your body into

balance. But when you return home to a cluttered and imbalanced environment you will likely

throw your body, mind and spirit out of alignment again.

Lastly we have earth chi. Earth chi includes mountains, water, the climate, and where we are

located in this earthly energy. Each of us is unique and has different needs; some people do well

in hot weather as others in cool. Feng Shui absolutely supports by connecting us with nature. We

spend 80% of our time inside our home or car or office and back again. Many of us have lost that

deep connection to Nature and the natural rhythms of the earth. Hundreds of years ago people

did not have clocks and calenders to tell them when to do things; they would just look up to the

sun and the moon and know when to plant their crops. They would speak to the land and

intuitively know what herbs would heal various ailments.

Feng Shui invites us to connect with Mother Earth, to commune with her, bring her elements

inside with plants, water fountains and crystals that harmonize our bodies and ground our enegy.

We are spiritual beings having human experiences and Feng Shui invites us to create a space

that connects the inside and the outside, bringing the colors of nature inside, soft browns, healing

greens and blues that remind us of nature’s abundant gifts.

Create energy flow: Enter into your home and ask yourself the following questions

What gets in your way?

Are any areas blocked off from you?

Are you able to open all the doors fully?

Are there large piles of clutter?

One of the most important principals of Feng Shui is clearing clutter

One of the most important things you can do for your finances is simply to clean up. Throwing out junk and getting rid of things like excess paper, empty boxes, and broken items can go a long way toward energizing your home for prosperity.  In particular, de-clutter your SE corner of your home, of your living room, and of your bedroom.  This is the wealth sector and if it has piles of junk, then financial chi can’t circulate.

This includes, Your car, purse, garage, computer inbox, desk top

  • Clean you’re Front Door.
  • Replace Burned Out Light Bulbs.
    Clean you’re Windows.
  • Remove Dead Plants
  • Repair Broken Mirrors
Tighten Lose Door Knobs and Handles.

Feng Shui for Love and the bedroom

  • Remove clutter Eliminate the old to bring in the new.
  • No TV or Exercise Equipment!
  • Always have things in pairs
  • Check the statues and art in your home
  • Bed placement
  • Soothing Colors – Colors on your walls, bedding and window treatments can help create serenity in your home. Switch to light green, blue, lavender, peach, pink or neutral tones for peaceful energy.
  • Full spectrum lighting is the best lighting to have especially in the office.
  • Water features are great for creating a relaxing atmosphere, this year they should be placed in the east.
  • Plants: Greenery is always a welcome sight. Have as many plants as you possibly can in your home. Ensure however that they look healthy. Cactus and dried flowers are not recommended.
  • Sound: Play relaxing music
  • Photos: Have many happy images of your family throughout the house, especially in the kitchen/dining, family room.
  • Art Work: Have art work that you love and things that inspire you, it is very useful because they are going into the subconscious all day.
  • Remove Energy Stimulants – You’ll want to avoid gadgets, big and small, that send out powerful electromagnetic energy causing many sleep and health issues.

Create A Sleep Ritual – There are many different types of rituals that will help your body wind down for a harmonious night’s sleep. You may want to spend a couple minutes writing your worries down or anything you must remember for the next day so your mind can let go of the anxiety. Other suggestions include drinking herbal tea, meditating, doing gentle yoga, taking a walk, writing in a gratitude journal or taking a warm bath.

For a Childs bedroom

A mirror at the foot of anyone’s bed is not advisable, but it is especially important for a child.

Bunk beds are not advisable for children.

Try not to have heavy furniture in the bedroom, or bookcases or shelves that seem to take over the room. Less is more in a child’s room if possible.

Be careful of what is hanging from the ceiling in the center of a child’s room.

De clutter the child’s bedroom as much as possible

Improve the health of your child by placing live green plants in the bedroom.

As I follow my bliss, my bliss starts chasing me!

Bliss builds in my world today with every conscious decision I make!

Today I find my bliss in the sweet spot where my talents and my passion merge.

Creating a Sacred Altar in your home

An altar invites us to reconnect with the deepest parts of ourselves, for an altar is a window to the Divine. It opens the channels of communication to the world of Spirit. An altar offers us a space where we can ask for guidance and strength, express gratitude, tap our inner magic, set intentions, offer blessings and meditate. By creating an altar, we connect the physical and the spiritual worlds. A home altar is not a necessity, though it does remind us to connect with Source throughout the day.

To locate your altar, find a space in your home that is private and where you will be comfortable spending time each day. You can place it in a meditation or yoga room, but I do not recommend placing it in the bedroom for this is the place for rest and romance. If it must go in the bedroom, place a screen around it as it can be disrespectful to have sacred items facing towards your bed.

If your home has no private area, your altar can be placed in a special cabinet that can be enclosed. Your garden could also become the site for your altar, thus inviting you outdoors to spend more time with Mother Earth. While sitting at your altar, it is best to face East, the direction of the sun’s rise, which signals new beginnings.

When creating your Altar, set an intention as to the purpose of the altar. It may be for connecting with your higher self, for abundance, love or healing, or it may be an altar related to all of the above. As you create your altar, keep in mind the left side is the feminine side, the receiving side, and the right is the masculine and the giving.

If you love to travel and like the comfort of having some of your sacred items with you, you can also create a traveling altar. Simply pack up a few ritual items in a small bag. You can also create an altar as you travel by adding special things that you find on your journey such as rocks, feathers, leaves, and tokens you purchase.

When assembling items for your altar, consider a table and table cloth, spiritually symbolic spiritual things, candles, charms, incense, a magic wand, sacred texts or pictures that inspire you, and perhaps oracle cards to draw from when you are looking for guidance Also important are the five elements:

For Earth, add crystals, stones, sand, dirt from a site sacred to you, cornmeal, or tobacco.

For Wood, add flowers, greens.

For Fire, include a candle or incense.

For Water, add purified water, blessed water in a bowl.

For Metal, try metal items such as a statue, singing bowl, bells.

For Air, use incense, sage or sweetgrass, a feather.

Remember not to overcrowd the altar as this can create a cluttered mind, just as an altar that is too bare can represent a lack in your life.

To keep the vibration high and clear on your altar, include only items that you love and that feel in alignment with you. Changing the arrangement of items weekly and adding fresh flowers will keep the energy flowing.

Dust and wipe down the area around your altar, and use fresh candles, for burnt out candles could reflect that your energy feels that way in your life. Light your candles, incense or sage regularly to keep the passion alive and flowing in your life as you visit your altar daily—and with love.

Creating a sacred Altar

Posted by: | Comments (0)

A personal altar invites us to reconnect with the deeper parts of ourselves. Here’s how to get started.
1. Find a space in your home (inside or outside) where you could fit a small to medium table that is unobtrusive to walking paths or other furniture.
2. Find a small to medium table to put in said space.
3. Find a nice tablecloth to cover said table.
4. Place items that represent what you are building an altar to on the table, which is now your altar.
5. If you use your altar for ceremony, it is a good idea to find a table or desk that has drawers in it to store extra candles and tools.
6. You can place it in the garden, meditation or yoga room; I do not recommend placing it in the bedroom. If it most go in the bedroom place a screen around it.
Whenever you get a new item of a magical nature, such as a crystal, a special feather, shell, a new magical tool, then it is appropriate to pop it on your altar for a while to absorb the energy which is focused there.
Oracle cards are energized by being on an altar, as well as any items related to magical workings.
Intention
first, set an intention. To set the energy of your altar, simply declare or write down your intention – “Abundance Altar” or “Healing Altar” etc. Your home altar is a personal power spot for you where you can continue to grow and deepen your relationship with the divine and yourself. Simply declare your space, this is MY SACRED SPACE. Ask yourself, “if this altar could be about anything, what would it be about?”
Altars have been created from the beginning of time – not only to ask for blessing and connect to the divine, but also to give thanks, make personal magic and to honor those who have come before. Creating an altar CONNECTS the physical world with the spiritual world. It is a physical place for dreams to live and a direct telephone line to the invisible forces that weave through one’s life. An altar grows and changes responding to your life. An altar reminds us to honor and give attention to our inner lives as we develop inner-authority.
• ask for guidance and strength
• offer gratitude, send out blessings
• pray for yourself and others
• meditate
Indoors – if you are planning to set up a formal indoor altar, find a spot in your home where you feel comfortable placing this sacred space. This may be in the corner of a room, on a coffee table or cupboard top or shelf. Be mindful that it should be kept higher if there are small children or animals in the home.
Outdoors – an outdoor altar can be set up on an inverted plant pot, a log, or on an old table top set upon a wooden box – whatever flat surface you can find of a size which suits you. Again be mindful of small children and animals when planning a permanent altar in the garden.
Place similar items on this as for the indoor altar, although you may decide to have more garden-style items, such as a cement statue of a Goddess.
Traveling altar – If you travel and like the comfort of having some of your sacred space with you, you can simply pack up a few ritual items in a small toiletry bag and then set them up in your motel room or other accommodation – items could include a small altar cloth, shell, pine cone, and candles.
An altar can be used in many ways:

to say thank you to the powers that be
to celebrate Mother Nature in all her guises
to seek spiritual wisdom
to honor the ancestors
to offer up struggles
to receive creative inspiration
to dialogue with the deeper part of her being
to honor her body
Keeping the Magic Alive
• Visiting your altar daily
• Changing it around weekly
• Dust and wipe down the area around your altar (and yes, under your altar!)
• change the fabric, pick something fresh and present tense
• pick fresh flowers for your altar (and clean water for the vase)
• maybe a new candle, in a different color than you normally choose
• Place objects and images that feel current. Start with the question: “What wants to be on my altar?”
Altar set-up and Ceremony:
These are helpful guidelines…to just get started, create what FEELS right for you. Blessings.

Open Sacred Space- I look at this step as CALLING in my helpers and Sacred Guardians to create a space of which only Love, Light and Truth are present for me to do my “work”. So, remember that ALL is a part of the Divine but we do want to be working in the light so this step is important. Even though we may be “clearing” things that are may be lower in vibration…we are giving them into the light of the Goddess so she can transform them. She has the power to take ALL and transmute it into Love and Light. Take the time to sit down with a piece of paper if you want to and write out what each direction means to you or take guidelines from my sheet you if you like.
1. Come into your space,
2. Light your candle,
3. Light your incense, or sage from the candle etc,
4. You can start start facing East as is common because it is the direction of beginnings. Then you follow moving sunwise or clockwise. Then after Sacred Space has been made you can sit down to clear yourself and let go of anything you may be holding on to that is less then Love and Light, any heaviness. Check your body…it tells you. Any place feel tight or heavy? Go there and breath it out, take a Black Obsidian and rub on that area while you breath, shout it out, cough it out, cry it out, MAKE NOISE! You may tone it out. WHATEVER FEELS RIGHT DO IT!!! (It can be done without the Obsidian as well.)
5. Then when you feel clear…and only then, as it may take 5 minutes or 50 minutes. This is your journey to learn how to clear and heal yourself!!! It is time!!!
Then when you are centered you focus on the stillness, go into meditation, or begin your prayers, asking etc. Any sacred work you want to undertake can begin at this time. WHEN YOU ARE CENTERED!
Sometimes it is just to clear and get re-centered other times you may need clarity for something, other times you may be needing guidance. You have the ability to get it directly from your higherself from the Divine. Or you may feeling some emotions. These are just needing to be acknowledged and want to be release!!!! Emotions are not meant to stay inside us. Go into a your sacred space or the bathroom…whatever, and let it out.
This is what ceremony, ritual or prayer time is for. (What ever you want to call it.) Clearing our STUFF, re-centering, giving thanks and asking as if it has already come to be, this is the key, giving thanks again!
This is also a good time to do a Tarot reading, a card reading, pull a card for your day etc…just ask simply “What do I need to do or know today”, and pull a card, read it, and set it on your altar. Contemplate it during your day. You will be surprised.

6.Then when you feel complete. Stand up(by the way…you don’t have to sit in lotus position or anything, if you it doesn’t work for you…be flexible for where your body is at and if you feel…sit, lay down, whatever! LISTEN to your needs, do not force.
When you are ready, close space. This can be done many ways. Start with the direction you opened with and then turn counterclockwise etc. Or you can just thank all the energies together as a group.
Also, if you leave your space and forget to close space and you are at work or driving down the road…DON’T freak out!!! There is no time or space so, just bring your awareness back to your space and thank everyone and imagine closing it. And it is done!

8.Blow out your candle and you are complete.

Suggested Items for you altar
Goddess items, angels cards
Symbolic spiritual things, candles, charms, incense, a wand.
Items that represent the 5 elements
Earth – crystals, stones, sand, dirt from a site sacred to you, cornmeal, tobacco,
Wood: flowers, greens
Fire – a candle
Water – purified water, holy water, a seashell
Metal: an item made of metal a statue, singing bowl, bells, a knife.

Air – incense, sage or sweetgrass, a feather
Sacred texts or pictures which inspire you

The left side of your altar is the feminine side
The right is the masculine

Got up early this gorgeous grey morning and leapt out of bed grabbed my bikini and headed to the beach, the sun was raising as I drove there, such a magical morning. Got to the beach shoeless and just ran it felt so good so refreshing, I love going to the beach at this hour you get to see all the wild life there were seals, baby seagulls, pelicans and the best is to come…

After my run I decided to dive into the water and all of a sudden the dolphins came to play!
This is the Dolphin totem
The Power of Breath and Sound
A Dolphin totem can show you how to enter
the waters of life and then with breath and sound
call forth what you most need or desire.
Sounds are a part of dolphin life, and therefore, if you have this totem,
they need to be a part of yours. Sound is the creative life force.
Learn to create inner sounds so that you can create outer manifestations.
The dolphin, along with the whale, are the other sentient beings of our planet.
They too are self-aware and have souls.
Accordingly to the Michael Teachings, they are on their fourth cycle,
while most of mankind is on its eleventh or twelfth cycle.
If a Dolphin totem has shown up in your life,
ask yourself what your words and thoughts are creating.
Are you getting outside and into the fresh air? Are you holding in tensions?
A Dolphin reminds us to get out, play and most of all, breath!
I got the meaning of the Dolphin totems from linsdomain

This is so perfectly suiting for me for the very fact that I want to start the singing career that I have always wanted but didn’t think I was good enough or that I deserve it! So I have decided to change these pattern and beliefs and do it anyway
Seeing the dolphins was so perfect because singing is all about the voice and breath and the freedom that you allow in your body, mind and spirit.
As I jumped into the ocean I decided that I am releasing anything that is no longer serving me, any old past hurts, any unhealthy patterns and I let the ocean just washed them away cleansing and purifying me.
So here is to cleansing and following your dream
All love
Amanda
